Hey all! The past 9 days were so much fun. Yes, it was the typical "death by powerpoint" at certain times, but it felt SO good to do hands on EMT and Medic skills. Some of the 68W skills are so perishable, and it is use it or lose it. Other than the classes I got to know some of the people in my unit closer. We went out to drink/dinner at this place called Black Sheep, and it was VERY Irish. I honestly did not know what half of the food was, but it was fun! Then a group of us watched the Sat/Sun football games. I'm not so much a football fan, but it definately beats sitting in a room by myself with nothing to do. All in all, I had a wonderful time with lots of great memories! I am actually looking forward to drill this weekend.
I am also about 100% more motivated to start a complete workout/lifestyle change. My battle Krod and I made a pact that we are going to compete and see who loses the most of their "goal" weight loss. Whoever wins has to by the other a new shirt or something cute to flatter their new figure. I'm kind of really excited. Tyrone went and bought this workout plan/healthy eating and he is all into it. I got home yesterday and was whisked away to the gym hours later to start my workout regiment. 10 exercises, 10 mins of cardio and I must say Im a bit sore this morning. *and I did squats, I want a nice butt* Today before work I did a quick 15m cardio. I refused to get too icky so I did an inclined brisk walk. My calves and quads were burning! I set the incline at 15 and the pace at 4mph. I will be alternating between cardio and low weight/high reps and sets for my days. Wish me luck! I want to be back in good Army standards. =)
Coming home last night was great, I walk in the house and my little peanut was sleeping!! I wanted to wake him up so bad, but I waited patiently. It was too cute when he did wake up. I was there when he opened his eyes and he stared at me for a minute, smiled, patted my face and said "dada".. ok kid, almost there. He says "mama" but he had a little mix-up. He then did not want to let me out of his sight, gave me hugs and just wanted to play with me and crawl all over me. It felt good to be missed. I cannot wait to go home and see him, but once I get out of work today he will be more than likely asleep. bummer. I also have to work tomorrow 5-9. In between I have to finish 5 loads of laundry, pack all of my gear for "show-downs" and unpack from the past 9 days. This all has to be done by 0630 Saturday morning. --insert sigh here--
I will keep updating on my workout plan and trend how well I am doing. I was.. ahem 189 at the gym yesterday and did my measurements. I about cried. I am taking a before and after picture that I will post ONLY once I reach my goal weight. I am aiming for losing about 30 pounds or 10% body fat. Either way, I want to look like I did when I got home from AIT, my body was nice! "Ah, boy look at that body.. I work out" (haha!)
side note: I am heavily considering getting my nose repierced. I miss my stud! opinions?
I'm off and running to complete more web training.

A Week into 2012
and we wonder why the time flies. It does. Literally. It grows wings and takes off. Faster than AF1.
A WHOLE week. 7 days. 168 hours. 10080 minutes. What did I do this week?? Played a few video games, worked, slept, ate. Filled my time with nonsense really. And one week will turn into one month filled with the same "nonsense". Life happens, yes. And we have to have a certain aspect of monotony, but when do we get to infuse the fun and spunk? Maybe when we have money to afford fun and spunk? I refuse to do nothing due to lack of money, I shall find things to do! That is a promise I am going to make to myself for the upcoming week. I will be doing my EMT recertification, but in that time I will find an opportunity to do something memorable. I cannot promise you [again, if there is even a "you" out there] that you will hear about it right away, I might not be able to update until I come home on the 18th.
Maybe I will try and make these for Easter:
They are yarn eggs, and they seem super easy to make! I cannot wait to try :)

Or these:
Candy Sushi, totally up my ally. It combines my love for sushi and sugar.
Once I get out of work, my dad, Becky and Erika are stopping by to see the baby again. I really need to take some pictures to post!

A driver's license in the near future?
I know, this is ridiculous of me. I am 22 and never had a license. Why not? I can come up with a lot of reasons excuses, but ultimately it just never happened. What is prompting the sudden surge? I want a job, a specific job. This job requires a license in your posession. Plus, I should really get it since I am a part of a ground ambulance unit and need to be able to drive those as wel.. hmm.. So in the next month or so I am going to REALLY try to get my license. I am studying the manual online, and I know this is common sense, but they are going to ask the questions that I overlooked. *Go figure*. Lots of prayers for Tyrone and I to get this job we applied for. The closing of the applications accepted is the 18th of this month. Then on to a typing test, and when we pass (since the requirements are the ability to type 20 words per minute).. I think that we can Ace that test, we then take an oral test in front of a panel of commissioners. It is a state job, the people who answer the phones and dispatch for the EMT, police and Fire Deptartments. Pays well, 40 hrs plus unlimited OT. Pray we get these jobs, I know I will be praying!
Off to study more for this DMV test. :)

Productivity vs. Procrastination
.. and the winner today is...
Productivity!
We finished the 41 envelopes last night that we are going to be mailing out to modeling agencies. A spurr of the moment idea, but we are trying to see if we get any bites. We composed the cover letter, I wrote on the back of almost 200 pictures, put them in the protectors. We each signed the cover letters. Tomorrow we are going to mail them off, because get this, today is a holiday for the post office. Mhm, January 2nd

Santa as President
We all know this economy has been tough on some of us, ok, a lot of us. I love political cartoons and wanted to share some of the good ones that I stumbled upon.
Wouldn't it be nice if Santa could find us a job. Maybe his family should get used to the cold, and this poor guy could become on of Santa's elfs?
Santa as presents... it would be free handouts to everyone! Would that really solve our problems? Who knows, but I love free stuff!
Why does Obama always have to have big ears? Yes, again, harping on the job situation.
I thought it was cute.. Occupy Santa's lap.
Let's see if anything gets done this year, 2012, a year of change!
... the money spent on Presidential Races is mind boggling.
Too cute to resist. In our techy world, even kids know how to use cell phones, computers, iPads, etc.
New Years Resolutions
Does anyone even do these anymore? It is an excuse to 'wait' until January to start and try to kick a bad habit, or to go on a diet, or to start exercising.
Why wait until the 1st of the Year? Is waiting until the 1st really going to jumpstart you to get off your butt and go running. The 1st this year is a Sunday, who is motivated to start anything on a Sunday, I barely have enough umph to finish my laundry and clean.. mine as well try and kick an old habit. This is similar to people starting a diet or exercise regiment on a Monday. No one is motivated on Mondays, that is the most dreaded day of the week. Personally, I think it is better [granted this is solely my opinion] to start on a Wednesday or Thursday. Why not? Halfway through the week, but not too lazy due to the impending weekend. I started running, and I go every other day like I did during training. Perfect. I made an effort not to start Jan 1st, nor a Monday.
So here are my not-so New Years resolutions, they are just things that I should be doing more in general:
Dear laundry -- I am sorry I leave you dirty so often. I just hate to fold you neatly and put you back in your drawers or hang you up nicely. I know you deserve to be clean, and I understand your frustration when you get all wrinkled. I will make a whole hearted effort to keep you in the closet and drawers more often than the laundry basket.
Dear dust -- I know you enjoy hanging out with me, especially on my electronics, but I think for the year of 2012 you need to find a new friend. I will introduce you to my friend pledge and cloth, I really think that you are going to get along well. Maybe I will bring them over tonight after work.

Dear plants outside -- I promise to take better care of you this summer and take Ty out to see you. He loves to pull plants and pick flowers. I am sure he will cherish your work of looking lovely.
Dear water -- I must drink more of you. I know that you sit so patiently in the fridge staying nice and chilly. I take advantage of you and only drink you when I am really thirsty, I should be more greatful for all of your health benefits more often. You rock!
Dear cookies -- why must you taste so good? I shall leave you for others to enjoy more often. I appreciate you always satisfying my sweet tooth, you are an excellent counterpart- but my body doesn't like the counterpart growing on it. I must refrain from you a little bit more. :)
Dear running -- what to say to you? I know, I know, I will stop with the excuses. I am going tonight. I promise.
I have to be realistic and realize that these are not resloutions, meerly a reality check.
