Weekend Fun

Hello again,

What an eventful weekend! It started Saturday morning with catching the train to my mom's house and getting ready for my friend, DeAlessio's, shower. It was nicely done with a good amount of people. The food was delicious- it was a pot luck type and some of her friends & family really know what they are doing in the kitchen. We played a few games; and Bingo was by far the best. The cards were photocopied, so we did not realize it, but everyone was going to get "BINGO" at the same time!! And when we did, the whole room won!

DeAlessio's Gifts

She has such a cute belly!

DeAlessio knitted "Baby T" this cute little hat. I fell in love with it! I appreciate her taking the time out to make this for us!

After the shower, I went home and my mom and Cynara wanted to take pictures. So they set up the backdrop and used my sister and cousin as their models. I pulled my camera out and got a few decent shots. I really like this one of Stephanie:

It's funky and fun.

After their "photoshoot" we went to Babies R Us (yay) and I bought a box of diapers, wipes and some  bath essentials. I just love buying baby stuff. Sunday morning I got to do my pictures. They are on my mom's camera, so as soon as I see some, I will post a few I like. Three of our Christmas kittens were picked up this weekend. They all went to really good homes, but it is always hard to say goodbye to animals; especially when they are as cute as buttons:

How can you not love that face!

To wrap up the weekend I took a nice 2 1/2 hr nap once I got home and then turned in my essay (on time).

"Scarred with Life"

The title is not to be confused with "Scared with Life". The explaination behind this quote:
The scar- I was born with it, it has been my -smile- for almost 22 years now (My grandma came up with this nickname when I was younger.. I will not tell you what the eyes were!). I have always disliked my scar, even though it is the reason I am alive. I never wore bikinis or showed my stomach off without being super self conscious. Now that I am pregnant I am still jealous of all those cute, round bellies out there. My belly has a distinct "B" shape to it (whyyy). So of course, I complain about it, and complain some more. Tyrone said the other day (and I love him for this quote), "Think of all the women out there with perfect bellies who cannot even get pregnant, imagine how they must feel." BRILLIANT! It put my scar into a whole new prospective.

"Scarred with Life"

Another exciting milestone: I was able to organize a dresser in the guest room for the LO. Tyrone's mom cleaned out all the stuff; I quickly pledged it and set up some stuff on the shelves and in the drawers. I know it's not a nursery, but it is a start!

My favorite thing is the owl framed on the top shelf. I found the card at the post office, and had to buy it and frame it. It was love at first hoot. :) And while I was at the P.O. I picked up my stamps for my Thank you letters. I am getting a head start on them seeing as I have the energy now!

Have a good night

To Crochet or to not Crochet

.. or more like I can't do it yet. I bought some cute camo yarn from Walmart. I now know why it was cheap, it's hard to use. I am only using this for practice. I wish I knew what I was doing, I Youtube'd a bunch of videos, and ended up making two "Magic Circles". Past that, I am so lost. I refuse to make the typical square or scarf to start. I wanted to start with an easy hat of some sort. I might have to break down and buy a book. As helpful as the videos are, they  move way too fast for my eye balls and use words like double chain, and increase by 3.. huh? Maybe if someone could teach me.

Some good news: My friend Stephanie got wind that she might be having a boy; she is 15 weeks. I am so excited for her! I also have a baby shower to go to this Saturday, and I plan on bringing my camera and taking pictures for her. :) I hope she likes the pictures that I take.

Sadly, it's time to do homework again.

Sick of being sick

I am usually never this sick. I am sick and tired of this headcold nonsense. I went through a box and a 1/2 of tissues in one week. And the past two days I cannot taste my food. It is so disappointing. :( I'm done playing the boogey man! I have a puffy inner ear too, and I gave my cold to Tyrone. He isn't too happy with me right now. (I'm sorry babe!) On a more positive note,

Gift update:

My friend from Vegas sent these to me this past week. So flippin cute!

I unfortunately have lots of homework to do. Maybe it will snow again tomorrow so we have no math. :)

Oh Deer!

.. literally. But I will be getting to that part later. Let me catch you up. Drill this weekend was amazing. We got to give IV's on saturday to one another. Granted I did a MUCH better job than this person, it was still a good photo opportunity.

Along with doing IV's, we got to go to Hartford Hospital and do simulation training on plastic patients hooked up to machines. Sounds silly, but it was a lot of fun! One of our "patients" had shrapnel in his man parts, that was interesting wrapping that wound up.

Tyrone and I recieved two blessings this week that took our stress levels from 100% down to about 60%. I thank God for him helping us out, and 2011 is still looking pretty darn positive for us. (We still have to get to church!)
Valentine's Day was nice. Tyrone and I went to one of our favorite restaurants : Jimmies. And boy did we indulge. Fried Shrimp for us, and a pina colada for him. Mmm!

Today I had a Dr. appointment. I gained another 4 pounds in two weeks. Talk about feeling huge, but I at least have an excuse, and I'm sticking to it. The dr. said that I am measuring right on track, and he heard the baby's movements with the doppler. He told me I had an active one in there, and we also got to hear his heartbeat again. Baby T is still head down, I guess he is more comfortable that way. Who knows! After my appointment I went to Babies r Us. I splurged, just a little. I bought a few things for my friend's shower, and a couple things for me..

Granted, the stack of books I got for Christmas, and the blanket was a gift from G'Naunny, and the binkies were from Christmas. This picture was to show my grams what I have aquired recently. The camo glasses = complete score! And Tyrone loves the little Mets rompers. I was also able to get my crib and the mattress for Baby T this week. Talk about spoiled already!

Last but not least, the deer. Tyrone and I went out for a late night snack at 1am. We are getting onto 95N and as we are approachin the curve in the on ramp I spot this huge dark blob. I thought it was a crashed car, something we were not going to be able to get around. So I tell Tyrone to slow down, and as we approach I see not 1, not 2, not 3.. but FOUR deer hanging out in the middle of the ramp. It was a little family or something. They saw the car, jumped over the guard rail and turned around and watched us creep past them. It was like they were thanking us for not hitting any of them, they were SO cute. I wish I had my camera. I doubt I will EVER see four deer together like that again. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Now you're up to date, I'm off to bed.
Good Night

Belly Comparisons

Hello again,

Today is Friday, which marks the end of an eventful week and the beginning of an eventful weekend. Today's events included meeting with our math teacher for 3 hours to review for our test on Tuesday, and followed by going to my dad's for dinner and to wish my sissy a Happy 10th Birthday! This evening is then followed by a drill weekend, and I get to teach a class about saline locks and F.A.S.T 1s, and we are doing some type of SIM lab at Hartford Hospital. So in case I'm caught up this weekend, I just wanted to do a fun post! I am posting a picture from 16 weeks, and then 30 weeks. Woohoo, it grew!

Fun? Ok, maybe just for me. That's ok. I just wanted to share my excitement. Now off to get ready for dad's house.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again ...never gonna keep me down"

So the past week has been stressful (to say the least). Let me start off by saying that my tax return - the ENTIRE return- went to a delinquent federal loan from a college I attended for one semester in 2007. I cried, literally. I had bills and stuff already planned with that money. Nope, not anymore. *sigh*

Tuesday night, I was rummaging through the fridge and found some tuna. Mmm, tuna and crackers for a nice snack. Maybe an hour or so after I eat the tuna, I start feeling "off". I told Tyrone I wasn't feeling well, and tried taking a nap. After about another hour, I woke up and actually threw up. Ew. I called the Dr. since this was the first time my entire pregnancy. He said drink fluids, get sleep. Fair enough, I drank tons of water and between 10:30pm and 5:30 am I threw up 3 more times (the last time being green and watery)! So, the lucky Doc got another call from me. He told me not to worry, and if I feel worse in the morning call my actual Doc. Thank goodness when I woke up I felt 90% better, and just "hung over" since I was SUPER dehydrated. Thanks goodness it was nothing serious. *wipes forehead*

Last but not least on the list of crappy news: last month someone side swiped our parked car. We were parked outside of the bank, and an idiotic, uninsured driver tried to squeeze inbetween our parked car and the oncoming car. There goes the left side mirror and cracked the front bumper. Fortunately she was able to produce a "valid" insurance card so her car doesn't get towed, but when we called in the claim she has not paid since November. Ass wipe. So we called it into our insurance, and we have a $500 deducatable, so we now have to come out of pocket $500 to get the car fixed since someone wanted to drive around uninsured (according to our adjuster). *ARGH*

Now that I got the negative news out of my system. I got the mattress and favorite blanket off of my registry.
Too cute- huh?

So some of my shower invites went out (yay!). I cannot wait to get mine. Well, I am off and have lots of homework to do since I have drill this weekend. I cannot wait to be KP (kitchen police). Did you hear my sarcasm, because in cause you didn't, the last sentence was dripping with it.

I shall try to post again soon.
