Any Day Now

Little man should be here soon! yay! I just hope not too soon. I have so much to do before he gets here; not even baby related stuff. My sister has a concert at the Bushnell (7th), I have drill Fri-Sun (8-10th), I have a baby care class (13th), just to name a few things! Eeks, I am down to 22 days til due date.
I had a Dr. appointment yesterday. I heard little man's heart beating away and was measuring small(ish). About 2-3 weeks behind. She said this many be due to my scar, his position, and she also told me it is hard to measure accurately towards the end. She then told me I should feel him move 6 times per hour.. uhm.. I told her I am lucky if I feel him move 6 times per day. I just considered it normal since it has been that was since 20ish weeks. As long as I heard his little heart thumping away, I was satisfied. Well, the Dr. is sending me to get a Growth U/S this Friday. I hope everything is ok! I'm not super nervous, but there is always that twinge of fear that something is wrong until I have a healthy baby in my arms. Hopefully everything is ok and I get a picture or two to take with me.

That is about all that is going on: I wish my life was more interesting!

Progress!

It feels great. My cute camo blanket (yes, I broke down and started simple) is past the scarf stage and is looking adorable! It is not perfect, the edges are a bit funky looking, but it doesn't even matter. Little Man won't notice. Finishing is going to take a lot of time and patience. Here is what I have so far:
Not too shabby huh?

Nothing else is really happening today. We got a new phone a few days ago and I am addicted to Angry Birds, Slice It, and Words With Friends. Great, more pointless stuff to waste my time on!!

That's all for now, maybe more to follow :)
Have a wonderful day.

Rest in Peace PFC Rudy A. Acosta

I felt this this deserves an entirely seperate post; even though that means I have two posts for today. March 19th this 19 year old soldier was killed in Afghanistan. One other was killed, and three were injured; you can read the full story here. The crazy part of this story is: I knew this soldier. He was a Soldier Medic, 68 Whiskey, Combat Medic. A year ago we were in the same training unit at Fort Sam Houston, TX. We were the Bravo Bulldogs of the 232nd Medical Battalion.

R.I.P. Battle. Thank you for serving, you will not be forgotten!

26 Days Left

It is hard to believe that I am at the final stretch of this journey. It is even harder to believe I have a 6(ish) pound baby inside of me. Maybe my mind does not wrap itself snuggly around this concept because I still don't feel that pregnant. Crazy huh? Last weekend (4/20/11) was the baby shower. *Let me back track a moment* My mom asked if I could come up Friday night to help prepare last minute stuff for the shower. Little did I know she had a HUGE surprise waiting for me at the house: my Grams from Florida!!

I am so happy she was able to come up and help celebrate this milestone with us.

I did not get many pictures from the shower on my camera; I did take some once the place was all set up:

Room Layout

Dessert Table: All different flavors of cupcakes!

 Cupcakes: Onesies, Rattles, Diapers, Bottles.

Place Setting

Carrot Cake

I promise there will be more pictures, I am waiting on them from a friend. Overall the shower was amazing. Good food, great guests, and an abundance of baby items. I would say I am 85-90% set for when he gets here. 26 days til due date little guy (do you hear me?) Now I just have to finish up my Thank You cards; almost done!

Off to do ... homework! *blah*

Weekend Adventures

Hello everyone! (chirp*chirp) .. ok, I guess no one is out there.

Another busy weekend, man time is flying by! Friday I got to see my two cousins. I have not seen Erin since the summer of 2009 and I have not seen Robert in YEARS! Erin flew up to NH to see her friends and family and they decided to come down and visit me all the way in CT. I ate a delicious clam chowder bowl at Panera, went shopping and picked out my top for the shower, and we went to the beach and goofed around. It was really nice spending QT with them.
After we took pictures, it was present time! Erin and Robert got me some cute outfits; my favorite being the moose onesie. My aunt sent up a blanket that she made:

It is SO soft! I love it.

Saturday and Sunday was my drill weekend. It wasn't so bad; some medic classes. I did not bring my camera, although I wish I did. We learned 1 & 2 man carries; traiging the Leprechauns, the TC3 card and calling in a 9 line. The chow was not half bad because another unit was in charge (I believe it was a cook from the 118th). We got released at 1930, I was asleep no later then 2030. I was exhausted!

I still have an English essay to write, I am now 2 days late. My shower is this Sunday, woohoo!
I am off to possibly write the dreaded essay - finally -

Maternity Pictures

I just wanted to post a couple of the pictures from this weekend that I actually liked of myself. This was hard to do seeing as I did not like many (maybe I am just being too judgemental). We plan on taking more the weekend of my shower when I actually look bigger.

Not bad; minus the leopard bra~

I actually had to "push" my belly out to look 32 weeks pregnant!

I like this one

*Me and my mom's hands*

My friend had her baby on Monday, March 1st, 2011. He weighed in at 6 pounds 1 ounce, born at 35 weeks! Mommy and baby are doing well, and he is such a handsome little bugger. In the scheme of who's "next" in my unit, it is me. Reality is sinking in. I started packing my hospital bag and I plan on installing the carseat the beginning of April.

Well, off to do an online test. Story of my life.
